McDonnell Initiative Co-PI, Dr. Kate MacCord, has won a major teaching award, as announced in April 2021 by the School of Life Sciences (SOLS) at Arizona State University, where Dr. MacCord teaches as an instructor in addition to running the McDonnell Initiative at MBL.
“We are all familiar with the challenges we faced in our 2020 classes,” the language for the award reads. “Every instructor has had to learn new technologies, manage courses in completely different modalities. … Now we want to recognize those outstanding instructors whose efforts made such a difference in the success of their students.”
Dr. MacCord has been recognized with this award for the courses she teaches in the history of biology, history of medicine, and science and society which are among the most popular classes in SOLS. Congratulations to Dr. MacCord on this well-deserved honor!
