On Saturday, March 30th, the McDonnell Initiative put on the 54th annual Joint Atlantic Seminar for the History of Biology (JAS-Bio) at the MBL. McDonnell Fellow, Kate MacCord, and McDonnell Scholar, Kathryn Maxson Jones, acted as hosts, welcoming a crowd of over 45 scholars from around the world to Woods Hole for a day of talks from the brightest young minds in the history of biology. While JAS-Bio is traditionally a venue for graduate students and young scholars from east coast programs, this year’s program included researchers from eight different institutions from around the world, including Arizona State University and Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich.
